Agrobank Supports 4,000 Marginalised Community Members Through Agrobank X Food4U Initiative in Support off Sustainable Development Goals

Agrobank today launched its latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative; Agrobank X Food4U, aimed at providing food assistance to underprivileged communities, particularly homeless individuals in and around the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.

Speaking at the ceremony, Agrobank’s Group President/Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin stated, “Every individual deserves access to basic necessities such as food. However, many underprivileged individuals struggle to meet their daily food needs. Therefore, as a development financial institution committed to the food security agenda, Agrobank is responsible to play an active role in supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger by 2030. This effort goes beyond merely providing clean and nutritious food. It is also about engaging with and empowering those in need, ensuring they are not left behind.”

Agrobank remains committed to implementing various CSR initiatives that bring positive impact to society. Throughout this year, several CSR programmes have been organised, including the “Back to School” contribution programme, the distribution of angpau packets in conjunction with Chinese New Year celebration and the Fish Release Ceremony held under the Aquaculture Aspire initiative.

“The Agrobank X Food4U initiative will run continuously over a 10-week period, involving weekly distribution of 400 food packs at Jalan Chow Kit Community Learning Centre.

Through food distribution in areas where marginalised groups congregate, Agrobank can ensure broader outreach to those in need. In line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being, we are not only addressing physical needs but also nurturing spiritual well-being to create lasting impact in their lives.”

Through the Agrobank X Food4U initiative, Agrobank will be present at Jalan Chow Kit Community Learning Centre every Thursday or Friday from July to September 2025. This effort reinforces its role in strengthening national food security and reflects the values of compassion and community engagement that are fundamental to building an inclusive and sustainable society.
