Agrobank Empowers Local Entrepreneurs Through the Agrobank Upward Migration (AUM) Programme
Agrobank today reaffirmed its commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs in the small, micro, and medium enterprise sectors through its Agrobank Upward Migration (AUM) Program. Spearheaded by the Agrobank Centre of Excellence (ACE), this initiative aims to support entrepreneurs in expanding their businesses while contributing to the local economy, with a specific focus on sectors that strengthen the overall food supply chain.
In recognition of the entrepreneurs who have successfully completed the AUM Programme, Agrobank hosted the Majlis Aspirasi Kecemerlangan, which celebrated participants under the supervision of the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC). During the ceremony, five (5) outstanding companies were honoured
for their achievements in categories such as Sales Growth, Business Expansion, Job Creation, Capacity Building (Technology), and Capacity Building (Financing).
According to Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin, Group President/Chief Executive Officer of Agrobank “The AUM Programme is a structured 12-month initiative that encompasses physical and online training sessions, as well as on-site business coaching. The modules provided for this program include Financial Management, Digital
Marketing, Business Target Setting, and Corporate-style Business Management.”
He added, “These learning modules provide small, medium, and micro-sized entrepreneurs with opportunities to grow their businesses. In today’s competitive landscape, the skills and knowledge gained through the program enable them to become resilient and competitive, ensuring business sustainability and growth.”
“Additionally, one-to-one mentoring sessions are conducted to offer personalized guidance tailored to each entrepreneur’s business needs. This approach helps them stay relevant in a dynamic economic environment and ensures that the strategies learned are effectively applied in their daily operations.”
“Out of 29 companies that have completed the Agrobank Upward Migration (AUM) Program in the East Coast region including in Pahang and Terengganu, 13 companies recorded a 10% increase in sales, while 12 achieved over 20% sales growth compared to the previous year. Furthermore, five (5) companies successfully secured a total of
RM390,000.00 in additional financing. The programme remains ongoing and aims to support 200 companies by the end of 2025.”
